Zach Wilson Jets Contract

Zach Wilson Signs Four-Year Contract with New York Jets

$35.15 Million Signing Bonus and $35.15 Million Guaranteed

Dead Cap Hit of $29 Million If Cut Before 2022

Zach Wilson, the former second-overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, has signed a four-year contract with the New York Jets. The contract includes a $22.92 million signing bonus and $35.15 million guaranteed. If the Jets were to cut Wilson before 2022, they would have approximately $29 million in dead money. However, this amount is expected to drop to around $20.5 million after that season.

The Jets acquired Wilson and a 2024 seventh-round pick from the Denver Broncos in exchange for a 2024 sixth-round pick. Wilson, who was originally drafted by the Broncos with the second overall pick in 2021, missed the first two practices of Jets training camp but arrived at the team facility on Thursday afternoon to sign his contract.

Wilson is expected to compete for the starting quarterback position with incumbent Joe Flacco. The Jets have high hopes for Wilson, who is considered one of the most promising young quarterbacks in the NFL. With his strong arm and athleticism, Wilson has the potential to be a franchise-changing player for the Jets.
